Heian Shodan, the first five moves

The summer is here and that means that there has been a grading at Winkfield Shotokai Karate Club. Needlesss to say all the children did exceptionally well; it makes our lives as teachers very much easier, so I would Like to say a very big well done to all!

This is Katy performing the first five moves of the kata Heian Shodan.

    Hi Noel,

    Would love to get some more insight into the practicalities of doing this shot. I can see it's the mag-lite / long shutter speed a la "Red Shoes" but I imagine there was a bit more forethought & care required to outline Katie's movements without interfering with them.
